What is Licensing?

A digital permit containing descriptions of rights that can be applied to one or more pieces of content.

Why license is required?

Usage of software without violating copyrights.

Common flaws in using Oracle Licensing:-

  • Extra usage like Options using that were not paid for or may be extending beyond the scope of the contractual terms.
  • More users than licensed.
  • More CPU's than licensed.
  • Using Options/Packs/Features that need a separate license.
  • Stand-by and back up servers also need license.
It is highly advisable to conduct a yearly audit of servers with a partner that understands Oracle licensing.
